Scatter the Stones Pastoral Care Service
About Anita – Pastoral care worker
I am passionate about pastoral care.
I trained at Bible college gaining a degree in Applied Theology, specialising in Pastoral Care. In 2015, I also became a Certified Biblical Life Coach. I work best on a one-to-one level or in a small group setting, as an encourager and a facilitator.
I like to provide a resting place on your journey, where we kneel before God’s throne of grace and mercy and look to His light of truth through your circumstances. When you are ready to continue on your path we may part ways, but I am always there if you need another time out.
I work with those who are going through hard valley experiences and in need of encouragement. I also provide support for church workers or for those who are on the mission field, who are weary and in need of refreshment.
My heart is to provide a safe place to help you be still, search for Jesus through your pain and difficulties, and lean in to the One who loves you and knows what you need.
“I signed up for Anita’s Holy Week-Be Still Pastoral Care Session. I eagerly looked forward to my appointment time, but had no idea the peace and joy awaiting me that day. The room was a peaceful place, made even more so by Anita’s gentle and quiet spirit. She had all the scriptures and images flowing flawlessly as we followed our Lord’s final days and hours. She chose music that was powerful and new. One song in particular really had me deeply connected with God. Anita prayed often throughout the session, drawing me deeper and deeper into worship and fellowship. There were times when she asked the best kind of questions… you know, the ones that make you feel safe and yet pull at the more tender places inside you. I was able to share my deepest needs and we nailed them to the cross together. Such a blessing! I left the room feeling so much lighter than I came into the room feeling. I pour out a lot of myself daily, and this was a pampering and a refocus that really did feel so cleansing and refreshing for my soul. I am happily signed up for weekly sessions. Anita is offering a much-needed time-out to the weary and the worn.” ~ Shelly Benoit Hendricks from Renewed Daily
“Anita is wonderful in her use of bible study and compassion when helping people through difficult times of their life. Highly recommended.” Anita – The Gospel Butterfly

Listening and prayer
Would you value someone to talk with and pray for you? I offer a variety of ways to contact me for prayer
– Via email
– Via an online chat app
If you would value someone to pray with you rather than just for you, you are invited to make an appointment using the booking form at the end of this page.
You will have the opportunity to give me a summary of what you would value prayer for and then we will pray together.
‘For when two or three gather together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.’ Matthew 18:20 VOICE
I sit with you by our Lord’s throne of grace, and we seek His face together.
Information shared in the session is kept confidential, unless it is found that either you or someone else is at risk of harm.
Pastoral care –
- Introductory session about half an hour to meet and discuss what you are looking for and see if we are a good fit.
- Main session is about 1 hour
The pastoral care sessions provide a place to be still, with mix of listening, prayer, and worship, within the format of a guided reflection.
Picture the following scene
The room is free from clutter and is peaceful. There are no demands for your attention and no to do list. This is about you.
It may feel scary at first, especially if you haven’t considered your needs for some time, always taking care of everyone else, but in this room is the Lover of your soul, your Saviour, Jesus.
A place to be you
There are three of us – you, me and Jesus. I am (virtually) sitting across from you, looking forward to getting to know you and listening to your heart.
- Maybe you are weary and finding it hard to find joy in your day
- Maybe your heart has become discouraged, and in need of a helping hand to see who you are in your Heavenly Father’s eyes
- Maybe your journey is particularly difficult at the moment, and change is something hard to process
- Maybe you desire a closer relationship with Jesus
However you are feeling and whatever your current circumstances maybe, as we draw near to Jesus, He promises to help you.
What we will do in our session
- For the introductory session we will meet via a private online chat app for about half an hour to discuss what you are looking for and need of, and see if we are a good fit.
- For the main pastoral sessions we will meet via a private online chat app for about 1 hour.
We spend time in worship, reflect on truth, pray and talk. Before we meet, I spend time in prayer listening to God, preparing a session unique to you and your needs.
If you would like to see an example, please see What battles are you facing today?
I am here to encourage you in your faith, help give you a voice to what you are going through, and sit with you by our Lord’s throne of unfailing love and grace, as we give Him the things that weigh you down.
I walk by your side, reminding you that you are not alone, that you are loved, have a future and a hope.
For help with time zones please see – Time Zone Converter
I recommend setting aside a couple of hours, so you can prepare your heart before we meet, and allows you to have time after our meeting to reflect on what has been shared.
Information shared within the session will be kept confidential, unless it is found that either you or someone else is at risk of harm.
We may discover that counselling would be best for you, to help you process what you are going through. If this happens, I will encourage you to take those new steps of healing, as you look for a counsellor that you feel comfortable with.
Unlike coaching, pastoral care isn’t goal orientated.
We may meet for just one session, or arrange a longer term schedule.
If appropriate, I may also make suggestions for books for you to read, or other things to help you flourish in your faith.
After our session has ended, if it’s appropriate I will put together a summary for you.
This service is freely given, but if you would like to make a contribution towards helping me to continue providing this service, there is a suggested amount of roughly £10.00 about $14 (US dollars).
Please let me know if you would like to discuss this further. Payment can be made via PayPal invoice that I can send to you. Thank you!
It’s important to know that any payment you kindly make can’t be used as a charity donation, as I am a sole trader.
If further sessions are to be booked, we can discuss it further.
